Demons Forever Update

Hi everyone! I hope you all had a great weekend. I know everyone is gearing up for the holiday season. Can you believe there are already Christmas decorations up in a lot of stores? Insane. I’m not ready!

I wanted to write and give a quick update on how the book is coming along. I can’t tell you how much I appreciate all of the messages of encouragement and support over the past two weeks. You guys give me the strength to keep pushing forward and to want to truly make this the best book it can be.

This past Saturday night, I left the baby with my husband and headed to a local hotel with my 2 best friends and writing partners. They are both working on NaNoWriMo, while I was working on rewriting the opening of the book yet again. We got there around 6:00 PM and stayed up working until about 7:00 AM the next morning! It was crazy!! We ordered pizza and had tons of snacks and caffeine ready to go. It was my first night ever away from baby Andrew, but it was for a good cause and he did great without me. (Besides, he was asleep for most of it anyway, ha!)

I got 30 new pages written and am feeling so much better about the way the book starts. I kept feeling that something was missing and I think I’ve finally figured it out! That being said, I still have a lot of work to do. There are a few scenes that need to be completely rewritten, then I will need to do a final read-through on my own. Once that’s done, I’ll pass it off to my husband for formatting, then to beta readers for the last piece of the puzzle.

What does this mean in terms of a new release date? It means I’m not quite ready to say yet. I promised my husband I wouldn’t announce a new release date ever again until the book was finished and at least in the formatting stage. All I can say right now is that I’m still hopeful I will have the book finished and published at Amazon and B&N by Thanksgiving. That’s not set in stone, but I’m going to do everything I can to try to make it happen.

Unfortunately, I’ve had some health complications from my c-section surgery (yes, 5 months postpartum and still having issues, which sucks). I have had to endure many extra doctor visits in the past week or two. Hopefully that will all calm down soon and allow me to finish this last bit of work on the book.

I want to thank you all from the bottom of my heart for sticking with me and being patient over the months since I released Rival Demons. I am normally a very fast writer, but with all these new life changes, it’s been a challenging year in 2012. I hope to be moving past all that and on to lots of new books in 2013! And as for Demons Forever, I promise I will announce a release date as soon as the book goes off to beta readers!!!

And, since he just turned 5 months old today, I will leave you with a small photo-bomb of my sweet little Andrew!

  1. If there was ever a good reason to miss a deadline, then that sweetie pie would be it! We can wait patiently for the next book. They are only little once.

  2. Don’t worry for us, we will be patient. Just take your time finishing your book, taking care of little Andrew (who is to die for!!!) and taking care of your health. I hope you can resolve your health issues very soon. ( I still need cream for problems with my scars from my sections after my youngest who will be 6, 2 days after Christmas, so you completely have my sympathy with that!) so I’m sending you some healing vibes for that.
