My 4 Year Indie-Versary!!!!

Today is the 4-year anniversary of my very first published novel, Beautiful Demons!

When I first hit the “publish” button, I never dared imagine the future that would rise from that moment. I had been watching self-publishing very carefully, and I knew great things were possible, but what was possible for me?

Those first few sales were so exciting! At first, I knew the sales coming in were family and friends supporting me. But wait? 150 sales by the end of the first full month? There was no way that was just family and friends. I cannot even express to you how giddy I was knowing there were people out there in the world with my book in their hands. People who didn’t know me. People who simply saw my book on a website or on their ereader and decided to take a chance. The idea blew my mind.

Four years later, this is still an unbelievable journey. As of today, I have sold just over 245,000 copies of my ebooks. If I were to include box sets I’ve been a part of, that number goes up to over 260,000. It’s hard to wrap my head around that number! 250,000 times, someone has thought my books looked interesting enough to put their money down and take a chance on me. It is the most humbling, most exciting, most soul-filling thing in the world.

Without each and every one of my readers, my dream of making a living as a writer would never have come true. I am grateful every day for those of you who continue to support me. Your words of encouragement, your participation on social media, the time you take to leave a review or tell a friend about my books, it all means more to me than I could possibly express to you here. You have made my dreams come true and brought so much joy and fulfillment to my life, I will forever be grateful.

I hope you’ll continue on this journey with me far into the future.

  8. sarra you are awesome i think i have all your books and i am so thankful you gave that first book for free (peachville demons) because i was taking a chance and at that time my thoughts were well if i dont like it i dont have to read any more since then i have grown to love your work and i am waiting till 11/7 (fairhope series book 4) i understand at first it is hard for every writer but i do think you are and should be an inspiration to those new authors. i have seen how you have promoted other authors and to me that is so kind of you. keep up the good work
