Welcome back, my Shadowlings!!! This is it!!!!

I hope you’re ready because the next thirteen days will be filled with giveaways, book spotlights, memes, games, videos, and so much more. It’s going to be so epic! I am so grateful for this amazing community for continuing to show up for this event every year. I’ve been looking forward to this for a long time, and I’m so excited it’s finally here. Day 1 LiveStream: Welcome To The 2023 Spooktacular!

We’ll kick off the spooky fun at Noon Eastern time (12PM eastern / 9AM pacific) today with our first daily livestream event!! I’ll be live on YouTube, Facebook and in our Facebook group, so catch me wherever is most convenient. I anticipate I’ll be live for about an hour today, which is one of our longest daily livestreams. Most days, they’ll be around 15 minutes!

SPOOKTACULAR SCHEDULE

This is seriously going to be a packed schedule full of fun livestreams, giveaways, and community events. There’s something going on every single day, so join in whenever you want. I’ve created a Google Calendar for the Spooktacular, too, if you just want to add all the events to your own calendar! SARRA CANNON BOOK SPOTLIGHT

I’d like to take this opportunity to re-introduce to you the other books in my backlist in case you haven’t had the chance to check them out yet! Today I’m featuring Death’s Awakening, the first book in my Eternal Sorrows series. This book is FREE to download at all major retailers, so grab it now if you haven’t read this one yet!

Now, listen! I know some people say they do NOT like to read about zombies, and believe me, I get it. BUT at the time time, one of the most common reviews and comments I get about this book series is, “I don’t normally like zombies, but I LOVED this series so much. It’s my favorite.” So, maybe give it a try if you love my writing style. It’s written in 3rd person and has multiple points of view. I love it so much. The final book in this series will also hopefully be out in 2024, along with the final Shadow Demons book, so it’s a good time to catch up.

  1. Eeek… I’m so excited I can hardly contain myself! I’m so happy you’re going to talk about the Eternal Sorrows series. I have loved reading these over the summer. I put off reading this series because I was nervous about facing the pandemic. It was unnervingly accurate. It freaked me out, it was such a relief to get to the zombies ‍♀️ No spoilers though I still have one more book to read.

      1. I love all of the Shadow Demons books and it is hard to choose which is my favorite. I think Beautiful Demons may slightly edge out the rest because it started it all.

    2. I haven’t as of yet read the Eternal Sorrows series, so I don’t have a favorite character yet. They are on my reading list!

  4. I usually avoid anything that has to do with zombies and scary things like ghosts or vampires. But I forced myself to read Death’s Awakening (obviously I read it during the day) and I think it’s brilliant. I also read the other 2 books already published (Sorrows Gift and Fate’s Surrender) and I can’t wait to read the last one. My favorite character is Crash ’cause he’s funny and a geek.

  42. My favorite Shadow Demon/RivalDemons. It’s my favorite because it really shows Harper’s strength and her determination to change the ways of the Order.

    My favorite character in the Eternal Sorrows series would have to be Parrish. She is my favorite because even after she lost her mom and she has the fear of losing her sister she is still determined to save the world. She also never gave up hope that her sister was still alive.

In Death’s Awakening, I really love Paris. I love how she thinks – I love her passion and drive.

  135. I haven’t read the Eternal Sorrows series yet, but from the sounds of the blurb for Death’s Awakening, I think Parrish and I might be kindred spirits — minus the zombie apocalypse! I’m also WAY late to the Shadow Demons party, and haven’t started that series either, but the title for “Inner Demons” has me particularly intrigued.   160. I read Death’s Awakening a few weeks ago when I was procrastinating with my own book. I ended up staying up all night reading it, while my dog napped beside me. Then she needed to potty at 4:30AM, and I’m normally not creeped out taking her out at those hours, but I was definitely jumpy! My favorite character is either Parrish (because she’s a badass!) or Crash (because how can you not love him?)!

  178. How much fun is this year going to be?!? I haven’t made it thru the entire series yet, but I’m loving it so far! Beautiful Demons is awesome.

  180. I have only read Beautiful Demons (I bought the signed hard copy last year and immediately devoured it), and it was just wonderful. I cannot wait to continue reading the series, which I am deliberately doing slowly as I wait for book 12. I also ordered TDOVS on the order sheet, and I am SO EXCITED!

  182. This will be my first spooktacular and I’m so excited I’m a few days behind but I’m excited to catch up and continue on with the lives from now on.

  183. I’ve only read books 6-11 one time so I don’t have a favorite of the whole series yet, but my favorite of the first arc is book 5, Rival Demons.

  184. I can’t really pick one single book, because they all are amazing. It’s the only series that I’ve been able to completely immerse myself into and picture everything as I read. So that being said, I will say Beautiful Demons, because that’s the book that started it all.

  188. It is honestly extremely difficult to pick just one book to be my favorite. However, if I have to pick one then it is Beyond The Darkness. The amount of detail that is put into that book was absolutely phenomenal. I loved that we got to learn more about Lea and how separating Jackson and Harper only made their love stronger.

  192. I haven’t read the books yet. I discovered you as a writer, so it was Heart Breathings for me first. Over the past year I have attended the Friday Coffee Chats, and have been intrigued by your updates on The Disappearance of Vanessa Shaw. I recently got some of your free short stories, but have not read your books yet. My daughter and I plan to begin reading a series of yours (together) when she comes home from college this holiday season. (Thank you for that gift, Sarra!) I can only hope my work can bring a mother and daughter together, too, one day.

  194. My daughter and I are reading them together and our collective favorite so far is book 6 but we haven’t got to all of them yet!

  195. I have read from book 1-6 from the Shadow demons and that was a few years ago. And so I have decided to re-read them again to catch up on the story and to continue with all subsequent books until I reach book#11 ready for twelve.

  196. I haven’t read the series yet but I will. Right now I’m working on the forgotten realm series. I prefer audiobooks so if this is in a listening form I will listen to it next.

  199. The 1st book, Beautiful Demons had me hooked. I’d have to say that’s my all time favorite. It started me on this journey go discover all of the amazing books you’ve written.

  200. i guess i’ll say the first book is my favorite since i just started reading the shadow demons books. i got the first three free kindle books and i’m loving them. this is my first spooktacular and it’s been so much fun to watch everything. thank you for all your hard work on this. i look forward to reading the rest of the series.
