Cozy Reading Sprints Tonight
Spooktacular is kicking off early this year, and I’m so excited to spend some extra time with all of you this month. Tonight is our first official event with some cozy reading sprints on Twitch and YouTube at 8PM Eastern.
I know the time is not ideal for those of you in the UK and Europe (it’s 1AM start time, I think!), but the replay will be up if you want to watch and read tomorrow or in the future! We will try to squeeze some reading sprints in before the end again before Spooktacular is over if we can!
What Are Reading Sprints?
If you haven’t done reading sprints with us before, it’s really fun! Basically a “sprint” is just a segment of time where you set a timer for something like 25 minutes and then focus ONLY on your task. No interruptions or distractions. No phone scrolling. No chatting. Just reading, writing, or crafting. Whatever task you want to use this time for, this is your focus time!
So often, when we sit down to read, there are a million distractions that keep us from it. Kids, pets, notifications. Well, not tonight! This is YOUR time to just relax!
The timer will get set by me for 25 minutes, and then I’ll play some soft music and mute my microphone for the duration of the sprint. If you don’t like the music, you can also just mute the video while you focus. I’ll have some tea and a cozy blanket, and I’ll be reading the final edit version of The Disappearance of Vanessa Shaw!!! I’m so excited!
When the timer goes off, we’ll all take a break together! These are usually 5 minutes long, where we’ll chat and stretch our legs. I may read a few snippets of my favorite scenes from the book. It will be super fun!
I’m planning to be live for about 3 hours. Drop in or stay for the whole time. Watch the replay. Either way, I can’t wait to see you there!
How To Watch
I’ll be live on both my YouTube channel, which you can find here, AND my Twitch channel, which is here. Twitch is typically more of a gaming app/website, but I also do my Friday coffee chats there, as well as some Thursday night gaming from time to time. For most of the rest of October, I’ll be live on Twitch to play through the rerelease of Silent Hill 2, a horror game for PS5. I’m so excited!!
