Signed Paperbacks

For the Spooktacular, I usually offer a form to order signed paperbacks. Last year, that bit some of us on the you-know-what because I mistakenly believed Vanessa Shaw was almost finished. 😭 Because of that, some of you are still waiting for your paperback orders. To say I’m grateful that you’ve been so kind and patient is an understatement.

For those who ordered TDOVS last year, I’ll be sending an email out early next week where you’ll get a chance to choose which paperback cover you want. There will be two options! As soon as I have edits back from my betas and proofreaders, I’ll get these printed and sent out to you later this month. I sincerely apologize for all these delays. I’ve worked my heart out to write this book, but creativity doesn’t always work on our timeline. Thank you for being awesome.

Which brings me to the question: Should we do another signed paperback order this year? As usual, it will take several weeks to have the books printed and shipped to me, then several additional weeks for me to get them signed during a very busy time of year for me.

I LOVE signing books for you, and it fills my house with joy. However, I also want to make sure if I offer it, it’s something you want and don’t feel stressed about if the orders arrive in December or January. What do you think?

Do you want a chance to order signed paperbacks this year? Let me know in the comments!!!

We Have Spooky Merch!!!

And did I mention that for the first time ever, we have witchy, magical merch??? Tshirts, hats, mugs. So much fun! Browse my store here. Just be sure to check shipping costs, because since it’s print-on-demand sometimes different types of items will ship from different locations, and this can really make it expensive! There are lots of fun designs, though, so have fun taking a look and feel free to put in a request!

Become A Broken Chapter Society Founding Member

One final announcement before we go! I’ve started a new membership for my readers, where you can sign up for exclusive videos, livestreams, swag, and an overall magical experience.

It’s called the Broken Chapter Society. Interested in knowing more? You can watch this previous livestream where I talk about everything we’re planning to do as part of this membership! Founding members are anyone who joins BEFORE October 31. As a founding member, you’ll receive an exclusive gift and exclusive goodies and surprises for the lifetime of your membership.

My goal as an author has always been to create magical worlds where we as readers can disappear, escape reality, and live grand adventures where we see what it means to be true heroes. I want us to feel excited. Like we’re a part of something beyond ourselves.

For me, the stories I write and the worlds I create are so much more than just words on a page that I churned out as fast as possible. It’s about connection and community. It’s about knowing that if Harper can overcome everything she’s had to face, you can, too.

If you simply want to read the books, that’s awesome. But if you want to go deeper, make friends, and be part of a magical experience as I create new books, explore new stories, and just have fun, then you are going to love the Broken Chapter Society.

It’s a monthly membership where I’ll do exclusive YouTube shorts showing behind-the-scenes of my process and my life, livestreams, and posts. For now, we’re starting there as I create my own website around the society. Soon, I’ll also be sending out exclusive physical welcome letters and swag to every new member and inviting you to my membership website, where you’ll get a secret, magical experience I can’t wait to unveil.

Read more about the membership and join us here.

Let’s have a magical October and Spooktacular celebration, everyone! I am so excited to spend this time with you. It’s fun every single year, and like I said, we’ve got giveaways galore, including signed books, a kindle, access to my writing courses, and so much more.

I’ll see you Thursday for our first event: A Twitch and YouTube livestream event starting at 8PM Eastern where we will do some reading sprints. A “reading sprint” is basically just a night of reading together where we’ll set a timer for about half an hour, read silently on our own, and then come back to the group to chat for a bit before we read again. You can also use this time to write, do a puzzle, listen to an audiobook, or whatever you want.

I’ll also send a quick reminder email on Friday with a link to join me live on YouTube AND links to preorder my next book, The Disappearance of Vanessa Shaw. I’m excited, and I hope you are too. Let’s have the best month, everyone!

Magically Yours,

Sarra

I would love to have signed paperbacks offered.

And I am also thrilled to be part of BCS! Will there be merch for BCS? Or merch from your stories? I see a mug already from your shop I want, but if you come out with a writing one or some other kind I may wait…

Anyway, have a fabulous day and I can’t wait to read TDOVS!

    1. Hi, my name is Jessy, this will be my first year joining Spooktacular. I’m still unsure what to do though, am I to fulfill a daily prompt or did I miss something?

  4. Spooktacular is the best time of the year! So excited
I found you through either KU or Stuff Your Kindle Day. It’s been so long that I forget! My favorite book of yours is probably Beautiful Demons, because it introduced me to an amazing world… buy Death’s Awakening is a close 2nd.

    1. oops forgot to answer the questions. I first found you through your Youtube channel and my favourite book/series is Sacrifice Me but I am super hyped for A Mirror of Shadows and TDOVS as well. πŸ™‚

  5. I’m so exited! Spooktacular has become one of my favorite parts of Halloween over the last few years. I’ve been a fan of your books for many years now, since I got the first Shadow Demons book as a free e-book, and look forward to Spooktacular every year now.

  6. Ohh, I’m so excited!!
I love spooktacular and spending all this time with you Sarra.
I think if it is something you’re still willing to do, and are able to do, that no one minds the extra wait for the signed books.

  7. I am so excited for all the fun! I’m reading Emerald Darkness right now and am looking forward to reading Vanessa Shaw as soon as it comes out. Thank you for all you do and sharing so much with your community!

  12. I was looking for writing videos when I found you almost at the beginning of Heart Breathings. I loved the Fairhope series, but I have read the first three ebooks of the Shadow Demon series. I’d love to have all the paperbacks!

  13. I found your youtube 3 years ago and it has helped me a lot. i’m currently on the fifth shadow demons book and loving the series so much and can’t wait to read the rest

  14. I’m so excited for the changes to Spooktacular this year!

I found you through your YouTube videos on plotting a novel

  15. Congratulations on your book coming out soon! That is awesome. I’m excited to get to read it since I’ve been watching you create for so long. I’m also super anticipating the live shows I’ll be able to make. (Dumb job getting in the way) Hope everyone has an enjoyable time.

  16. Hey, Sarra! Yay! I missed most of Spooktacular last year, so I’m really looking forward to participating more. And yes, I’d love it if the signed paperbacks were still available. I was especially bummed to have missed the pre-order last year, even with the wait. Can’t wait to see what the second cover choice will be.

  17. Hi Sarra!!

Congratulations on all the beautiful things happening for you this season! You have been such an inspiration and shining light for me.

    I’m looking forward to pre-ordering T.D.O.V.S.!!

I found you on YouTube years ago when I decided to write my own book. I am forever grateful for all the helpful advice and entertainment you give to us.

    Much love and blessings!

    Amanda

  18. Sarra, thank you for such an exciting Spooktacular schedule this year βœ¨β€β™€οΈ
This is definitely one of my most favorite time of year!

  19. I love Spooktacular every year and it gets better with each year too! You have created such an amazing community and I can’t wait to see what the BCS holds for the future.

  20. I found you by accident. Just got a kindle and was looking for free books. Download a whole pile and I think after a year of having Peachville, I started reading it and been hooked ever since.

  21. It was actually my mum who got me onto your books, about 8 or 9 yeras ago I think maybe… I reread all of the Shadows Demons series every year. (It used to be twice a year but at the time I only had books 1-6 and a Demons Wrath)

  22. I just joined the broken chapter society and watched the reply of the live stream explaining it. I’m so excited to be a part of this journey with you and so thankful for how much you share with us about your process and your journey. I’m creative but not a creator and I’m so fascinated by amazing people like Sarra that have this ability to create and draw people into their creations! I feel so fortunate to have a peek behind the curtain and looking forward to the amazing things to come.

  23. Yay! Another fantastic day in October!

To answer the post question, I believe I found you through a writing group where a few of the authors recommended HB90. I not only enrolled on the spot (and have been a loyal alum ever since ), I began reading your books. I love them all, but “Beautiful Demons” holds a special place in my heart because it’s where my addiction to your books/writing style/characters began!

Having said that, can NOT wait for the release of the Disappearance of Vanessa Shaw!!!

  24. Wooooo, it’s the most wonderful time of the year! I’m wondering if you sell digital versions of your books?

  25. Super excited for my first live Spooktacular!

I found you through YouTube, your video about your 2024 planner lineup. My fave book so far has been The Witch’s Key!

  26. I’m so happy that I found the first few books of the shadow demons and read them so many years ago. I’ll never forgot how I devoured those books and immediately bought the next book in the series (and so on). And then getting to the cliffhanger in the last book at 2 or 3 am…..then googling to find out when I could get the next book. I’ve been hooked ever since and read a majority of what Sarra has written. That was a while back maybe so maybe the first 7-8 books were published at the time. These are the very first books/series that I have read more than once (at this point I’ve read most of them 5 or more times). This story is just so amazing and each time I read it just as fast and get pulled in so quickly. I’m so thankful for Sarra and the handful of authors like her that provide these amazing communities!

  27. I found you when you were reading Witch’s Key. For that reason, it’s my favorite book. My copy is WELL worn. The spine is coming apart (because if my useβ€”not the integrity of the printing) . I read it at least every October, but it’s my go-to comfort book.

  28. Yay! So excited for this year’s Spooktacular! One of the most fun parts of every spooky season for me.

  29. I’m so excited to be a part of Broken Chapter Society!! I love our community you’ve created!! I look forward to all the readings that will take place.

  30. First found you as Heartbreathings on YouTube and I haven’t looked back since! Can’t wait to read TDOVS xxx

  31. So excited for Spooktacular! This time last year, I’d only read Beautiful Demons due to chronic brain fog that led to a major reading slump, but I’ve since finished the next 5 in the series and loved them! I can’t wait to read the rest of them! I believe I’d heard about you from other indie authors in 2017 but it was one of your Happy Planner videos that really caught my attention and kept me coming back for more. Your planning/productivity advice made a huge difference in the way I organized my work. I love that you offer so much to both readers and writers. <3

    1. I’m so looking forward to the release of Vanessa Shaw!
Love spending this time with you all for Spooktacular!

  32. So excited for the Spooktacular!!! I have joined the Broken Chapter Society and I’m super excited about that as well!!

  33. This is my first Spooktacular! I retired from teaching middle school English in January, so I have time now for lots of firsts. I’m looking forward to it. Thank you for the Preptober planner. =)

  34. I actually haven’t read any of your books yet. I just recently started watching your HB channel a couple months ago, but I’m super intrigued by the premise of Vanessa Shaw.

  35. Hi Sarra!

So looking forward to Spooktacular this year! I am also so STOKED for TDOVS – it’s going to be amazing!
I first found you with your planning and writing content on Heart Breathings, and I immediately got into Beautiful Demons. I haven’t read the rest yet as I am getting them signed by you each year and reading them as they come in that way as a treat — Book #2 will come with TDOVS upon publication, and I cannot wait to get my hands on them!

  36. I honestly can’t remember how I stumbled onto you and your books… I do remember falling in (platonic, completely healthy, non-stalkery! Important to note!) love with both your writing and your way of encouraging pretty immediately. I’m glad you’re out here doing what you do.

  37. When I was searching for writing advice about three or four years back I started watching your channels. This led to me getting some of your books on Kindle. Beautiful Demons is my favorite.

  38. I have never fully participated in Spooktacular before. I am glad you are spreading it out this year. I am also excited about TDOVS. I would love to also order some signed copies. I don’t have of your physical books and I’d like to change that.

  39. So excited to participate in Spooktacular this year! I’ve been a Heartie for a while and starting to dip my toes into your books!

  40. I first found you thru Heart Breathings. My favorite book so far is the one I’m reading right now–Inner Demons! But that’s probably going to change as I go thru the rest of the series Thanks for everything you do!

  41. I love Spooktacular! So far I’ve only listened to The Witch’s Key, but I’ve been a fan of you on Heart Breathings for years before that. I’m eagerly awaiting the release of the Shadow Demons audio books so I can listen to those too πŸ™‚

  42. I was scrolling through YouTube looking for something and found you back in 2017ish. It’s been fun and encouraging to watch all the changes.

  43. Sara,
This Spooktacular is a bright spot in a chaotic life. Thank you. (I am hoping to manifest all the signed books.) I just enjoy the month prizes or no prizes.

    1. I am so embarrassed that I hit post and your name was misspelled. I could have sworn I hit 2 Rs when I wrote Sarra. Maybe autocorrect helped. I can’t find how to edit or delete.

  44. I love all of your books, but I’d have to say Beautiful Demons is probably my favorite because it started it all. I discovered you when I came across the free Beautiful Demons box set while searching for free books in Apple Books.

  45. This might be too much to ask, so sorry if it is, and please disregard.
Would is be possible to have a printer friendly version of the Spooktacular schedule? I’d love to print and slip it into my planner, but the super pretty version might use a lot of ink.

  46. Love these fun spooktacular activities and love whenever you offer the signed paperbacks. I have so many paperbacks but majority are your books and mainly because I was able to get signed versions. It’s so awesome that you take the time to do this for your fans!

  47. I’m an avid planner girl and I found you through your Erin Condren videos. I love that you share your hobbies with your writing! I’ve only read the Shadow Demons series through Harper’s POV. I’m excited to read Vanessa Shaw and see how far you’ve come in writing!

  48. I really enjoyed the Reading sprints last night. I’ve never done that before. I also discovered I like Lo-Fi music! It helped me finish a book I’ve been nibbling at for the past three months. It was a sequel to a book a friend of mine insisted I read. They are both well-written, just not my jam. Author: Fredrik Backman, Titles: My Grandmother Asked Me To Tell You She’s Sorry & Britt-Marie Was Here.

  49. This is the first time I am here for Spooktacular! I am so happy and excited to be part of it! It sounds so amazing!

  50. Hello, Sarra!

I think I found you because of my YouTube searches: journaling, writing and Nanowrimo are my best guess hehe. That was a year ago! How time flies~

  51. Ahh I’m so excited for Spooktacular!! Thank you for putting this on. The Eternal Sorrows series is my favorite so far. πŸ™‚

  52. Whoops, I totally missed the question about how I found you as an author and which book of yours is my favourite … hm, it’s been quite a few years, but I think I must have found you by your NaNoWriMo Diaries or something like that? but I’m honestly not sure … as to which my favourite book of yours: it’s hard to pick, but maybe the Sacrifice Me series?

  53. So excited for this year’s events. Seeing you so happy about this release was a bit of a tear jerker. You worked so hard on this i can’t wait to read it.

  54. This is all so exciting! My mother passed away early this year and I really have to force myself to find some fun in my days. But you really have me excited for this season! I’m also very close to finishing my TBR for this year and I think my reward will be TDOVS!! Thank you for all you do to bring reading, joy and authentic connection to the world!

  55. I’ve only read the Witch’s Key so far and loved it, plus i listened to your narrations of the shadow demons saga on youtube. I’d love to read the rest. and soooo excited for your newest book!!

  56. I was looking for a random book to read one day through my kindle app. I saw the bundle of the first three Beautiful Demons series. I was hooked after. I bought all the rest and side stories and then moved to the Fairhope series.

  57. Watching the live premier of your Writing Retreat In the Woods just now was so enjoyable. Thank you. Yes, chapter 34! Can’t wait!

  58. Spooktacular is my favourite time of year, and I loved the writing retreat vlog <3 Cannot wait to read TDOVS!

  59. I found you on YouTube from Heart Breathings and then last year discovered you had another YouTube channel. I love all your books that I’ve read so far it’s hard to pick a favorite!

  60. Love the line up you have planned for spooktacular – so much thought and work has gone into this event. Thank you and Team Sarra for a fun month to come!!

  61. I’m very excited for Spooktackular. I love the purples, the witchiness and all things writing this time of year!

  62. I found you through Youtube in 2019, channel Heart Breathings. I wanted to write my own stories and needed tips. Plus, October (Preptober) and November (Nanowrimo) became exciting months to write my thoughts. The first of your books I came across was Beautiful Demons.

  63. This is my first year even knowing about your events. I’m excited to see what it’s all about πŸ™‚

  64. I need to print up my planner and get started but we’re in the middle of moving maybe I can manage the digital copy. Just whining here because my spouse will try to fix it if I whine to them and they already have way too much to do!

  65. I think I found you because the YouTube recommendation goddesses were kind that day. I’ve only read the first couple books in the Shadow Demons Saga, so I’d have to say the first one!

  66. I remember having read Beautiful Demons because I got it for free. When we read a different book for bookclub I kept mixing it up with Beautiful Demons, because that story just stuck in my brain. So I went back and read more of the series

  67. I first found you through my friend Heather, she’s a writer as well and introduced me to your Heartbreathings channel. From there I’ve followed you because I’m a writer as well and you inspire me!
Oh gosh, my favorite book of yours? How do I choose?! I got hooked into the shadow world and purchased them all in Apple Books, then of course moved into Sacrifice Me… oooh on second thought, the Sacrifice Me series may be my fave… I LOVE Rend so freaking much!
I’ve read the Sacrifice Me series a couple times now. I also love Eternal Sorrows, such a unique twist to an apocalypse setting. Fair Hope series I adore and couldn’t get enough of too, I mean seriously I’ll love anything you come out with. I’m also looking forward to winning this giveaway and rereading all your books in paperback form! Thank you! #manifesting #scripting

  68. Sarra I found just by looking for free books to read and came across the shadow demons saga and instantly fell in love. That was in like 2018. My favorite books you have wrote is the Deaths Awakening. I absolutely love the Eternal Sorrows series!!!! Those books helped me get over my fears of zombies! Lol

  69. We had the first livestream for the Curator of Secrets subscribers and it was so much fun! Can’t wait what our next livestream will bring.

  70. I joined the Broken Chapter Society a couple days ago! I’m so excited to be a part of this new community!

  71. I’m loving all the free bonus content so far this year! I’ve already put the wallpapers on my phone. And that word search will be definitely be getting used because I’m a substitute teacher.

  72. Sarra, I found you about 5 years ago when I wrote my 3rd book and needed company and advice. I am just now finding and reading your books. I started with the first of the Fairhope and I’m on book 3 of Demons. I’m obsessed with how you end chapters.

  73. So many fun reads in the Sarra Cannon book collection! This is making ready for a re-read of some of them πŸ™‚ I still haven’t read the Fairhope series, but I think it will go on my 2025 list.

  74. Working my way through the challenge planner on my iPad. Slow going as my spouse and I are in the middle of a move (I hate moving!) but I’m trying to grab time where I can. It’s such a good resource!

  75. I’ve been a fan of yours for about 8 years now! I’ve been slowly collecting all of your book as I can.

  76. My favorite book is still Beautiful Demons. And I think I agree with you, Sarra. If CW ever picks up your book, I like Beautiful Demons as a name better. But a name with Peachville in the title feels like it fits a CW show and it would still work.

  77. Looking forward to the twitch live stream (not much of a gamer) but my niece loves watching people game so excited to see what it’s all about!

  78. I first found you through Heart Breathings six years ago. I watched one of your first videos and subscribed. Soon after that I subscribed to your Sarra Cannon channel as well.
I got your shadow demons bundle 1-3 and loved them. IΒ΄m currently on book 7 and IΒ΄d love to have all the paperbacks!

  79. Well not sure If I am getting TDOVS only because story wise I am not into Crime mysteries in books. So not sure but I have love everything you have written so maybe I will try to read it.

  80. I found you randomly on YouTube a few years ago. It was one of your writing, probably plotting, videos. I figured a published author was a good source for advice!

  81. I first found you through your notebook challenge videos! My absolute favorite series from you is the Eternal Sorrows ! I love dystopian and the fact that it has magical aspects put it over the top for me!

  82. The preptober planner is very handy. It makes preparing for the Rough Draft Challenge so much easier.

  83. Love this time of year! Halloween is my family’s favorite holiday! And I love the spooktacular!! Thanks for the opportunity to win

  84. Enjoying all the events even the replays. At least the Amityville Horror coffee chat is in the daytime so not as scary as night time. I will try and get to the live if I can.

    1. I enjoyed being there for gaming livestream!! That was the first time I’ve gotten to be apart of it. It was great!

  85. Hi, Sarra. It’s been a minute since I had the time to breathe, let alone read and comment on ANYTHING. I’ve been suffering from migraines and dealing with moving provinces, from Alberta back to British Columbia, and just life. I have to get caught up on your books again, but I’ve been a fan since I first read B.D. about 11-12 yrs ago. I would love to be able to order signed books. I hope to catch a livestream or 2. Lots of love ❀️

  86. This page already has so many comments it takes a few minutes to scroll to the bottom lol. Can’t imagine how many it will have by the end of the month!

  87. Super excited to see and participate in what you have planned for us. Thank you for your dedication. Also, congratulations on finishing TDoVS!

  88. My favourite Sarra book is Beautiful Demons, and probably always will be. The Witch’s Key is probably a close second. But Forgottwn Darkness will always have a special place in my heart because when i couldn’t bring myself to pick up let alone actually read anything, it was Forgotten Darkness that pulled me out of that. I read over half of the book in an hour or so, and was so absorbed in it that I had no idea how much time had actually passed. Or what was going on around me.

  89. I just saw the Heart Breathings video coming up on Sunday, “Brainstorm Your Novel Idea”. It is on my calendar! Thank you!

  90. I am loving this spooktacular so far, I watch and keep up with it every year, it truly has been a memorable time for me!!!

  91. I first found you probably close to ten years ago now. I would always search for free books on Apple Books and one day came across the Shadow Demons series. I’ve been a fan even since. To this day that series is my favorite!
